STOP bullying and harassment at work!

 All employers have a duty of care to ensure that employees are treated fairly and to provide a safe working environment. Colleges and universities also have a duty to provide a working environment free of discrimination, and one where equality is promoted. Where bullying and harassment are allowed or where action is not taken to prevent them, educational institutions do more than damage their staff. A culture of bullying is also not conducive to good teaching or good research. Bullying and harassment are particularly unacceptable in institutions of learning because staff must be able to question and challenge received wisdom and to teach students how to do the same.
