Inclusion and Ethnicity – Higher Education Academy

Although the participation of students from minority ethnic communities in Higher Education (HE) is higher than for students from white communities, the attainment of those who complete a first degree programme (as measured by class of degree) is markedly lower than that of their white peers. Previous studies have shown that this difference in attainment cannot be explained by age, prior attainment or subject of study.
